The myths surrounding luxury weddings which are keeping you stuck

There are a LOT of myths around when it comes to luxury wedding marketing.

And as a luxury wedding business coach and marketer. Here are the ones which I hear the most often;

  • Luxury clients aren’t motivated by pains or problems

  • Luxury clients don’t care about a good deal

  • Luxury clients will pay anything

  • Luxury clients are all ultra-rich

  • Luxury clients just have loads of money to throw at anything

  • Luxury clients expect me to sound posh

  • Luxury couples don’t research for their wedding their planner does it all

So before you let these myths tarnish your brain. Let’s unpack these common phrases which are stopping you from serving your dream clients in the best way possible:

  1. Luxury clients aren’t motivated by pains or problems - If you’re human you have problems which you want to get away from, stop treating these people like mythical beings.

  2. Luxury clients don’t care about a good deal - If anyone should get a good deal, it’s those who are spending thousands on your services, don’t be offended if they ask for a deal.

  3. Luxury clients will pay anything - Believe it or not, MOST of these mythical creatures don’t have money trees. They have large budgets but here’s the key, it’s still a ‘budget’. Although you will get some which say there is no budget but those aren’t the majority.

  4. Luxury clients are all ultra-rich - Luxury means different to so many people. It’s actually been stated that a luxury wedding is anything with a budget of $96k or more, which means a large proportion of that market have probably spent a lot of time saving up.

  5. Luxury clients just have loads of money to throw at anything - See points above 👆

  6. Luxury clients expect me to sound posh - Nope! They just expect you to do a damn good job!

  7. Luxury couples don’t research for their wedding their planner does it all - Wrong! 1 in 5 (20%) of brides or grooms started reading wedding magazines before they were even engaged, and nearly half (42%) read wedding blogs before getting engaged.
